Catherine Pratsinakis Joins Dilworth Paxson’s Litigation Group

April 4, 2018 (Philadelphia PA) – Dilworth Paxson LLP announced today the addition of partner Catherine Pratsinakis to the firm’s Litigation Group, working primarily from its Philadelphia and Wilmington offices.

For fifteen years, Pratsinakis has secured hundreds of millions of dollars in recoveries for institutional and retail investors across the country in complex corporate and securities litigation against domestic and foreign entities in a wide range of industries. 

Pratsinakis recently secured a recovery of $72 million for preferred stockholders in Johnson v. W2007 Grace Acquisition I, Inc., No. 2:13-cv-2777 (W.D. Tenn.), an action against a once-public, widely-held billion-dollar real estate investment trust that was taken private and had gone “dark” on its preferred stockholders for many years. 

She fought for ongoing transparency and financial disclosures in Roth v. The Phoenix Companies, No. 650634/2016 (N.Y. Sup. Ct.), where she secured ongoing financial reporting for bondholders, market makers, brokers, and analysts from The Phoenix Companies, a publicly-traded insurer that was being taken private and was seeking an indenture amendment that would have permitted it to go dark on bondholders. By requiring defendant to continue corporate and financial reporting the liquidity and value of the bonds were preserved through a settlement that the Court hailed as “outstanding.”

In a statement, she explained her decision to leave a prominent class action firm stating that “Dilworth Paxson’s reputation of excellence coupled with its resounding commitment to a Plaintiffs’ Rights Practice Group were my biggest motivators. I admire the leadership’s vision to modernize and expand on what it means to be a traditional full-service law firm in Philadelphia and look forward to making a meaningful contribution.”

Pratsinakis is licensed to practice in Delaware, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey. She earned her BA from the University of Maryland and her JD/MBA from Rutgers University
